About this Artwork
I’m crazy over purple iris and this colony running loose in the woods near my home is rather exciting. I find myself wanting to cheer them on for escaping the yard. I love the color contrast of the turquoise foliage with the spring grasses and the tangle of oaks behind. I used sometimes attentive and sometimes audacious brushwork to recreate this scene of high tea on Bourbon Street.
