Deep in the Mt. Lassen Wilderness is a favorite infinity-edge lake hugging the edge of steep cliffs. Glacier made, spring fed, minding its own business. Quietly spectacular in every way. On this afternoon, sun streaming across it, bouncing through the trees on its moraine edge, I had one of those ‘meaning-of-life’ moments. Using exuberant brushstrokes drenched in rich forest colors, please enjoy this attempt at translation.
