About this Artwork
Meaning the big city of Wilton, New Hampshire, population 3000. The windows in my downtown second-floor studio looked over the most magical flower garden, perfectly contained within a teeny-tiny fenced yard. This painting of that flower garden was one of the first paintings I did in the New Hampshire studio and I was still working on paper — in fact, Summer in the City was my last painting done on paper. The next time I painted, I again gazed onto the flower garden, only now I had an easel and canvas and Hot Town was born. Summer in the City is so fresh and emotional, one of my dearest pieces. It is available in several print sizes that will brighten any room or mood.
