The Bather

Clear

A professional artist friend in New York compared my early work to that of the French impressionist, Pierre Bonnard. I immediately researched him and loved his paintings of the bath. In this painting, one of my first to use oils, the misty illuminated “glass block” walls are Bonnard’s. I added my own bather, the bird’s-eye perspective, the claw-foot tub, and of course, put one of my roses on the wall.
