Sunsets are often spectacular where I live and one evening the sky went above and beyond its usual above and beyond. I ran outside, what is going on?! It turned out to be a tornado whirling far off the beaten track. Though it never touched down and I couldn’t see the actual vortex from where I stood, I knew something unusual was happening. I created this impressionistic painting using generous amounts of paint and long energetic brushstrokes to capture the bursting turbulent sky.
