About this Artwork
In my earlier life as a hydrogeologist, one of my main project areas was the gorgeous Columbia River Plateau of Oregon. This painting was inspired by those times and that scenery, driving the state pickup in the evening to the hills to get a bird’s eye view of the project. Done early in my self-taught art career, the emotional impact of this landscape necessitated a quick wet-on-wet technique, using lots of paint and bold brushstrokes.
